to the International Congress on Dance Research,
to be held 25-29 April 2018
in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
We will organize the Congress in St. Petersburg for the fifth time.
Congress theme «Preservation of cultural heritage – dialogue of epochs in arts of music and dance». The Congress is organized by the Saint-Petersburg Section of CID at UNESCO with the assistance of The Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, Under the auspices the National UNESCO Commission.
1) In Russia, 2018 will be dedicated to the ballet and the 200th anniversary of the choreographer Marius Petipa. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, Petipa has staged more than 60 ballets, the best of them became examples of classical choreography.
St. Petersburg Section of CID – UNESCO initiates the project “The Golden Age of Marius Petipa”.
Marius Petipa – a remarkable master. He made a lot for ballet development. We offer experts and theorists to join this project.
2) The Council of experts is going to work within the scope of the Congress in preserving nonmaterial cultural heritage; the aspects of folklore, ethno psychology, preservation and development of national cultures outside the homeland are going to be discussed. Every participant may present their national dance or folklore form, which demands protection and preservation.
3) You may present historical, anthropological research in the field of culture and art within the scope of the Congress. All the materials are published in official scientific collection of articles.
4) We are glad to invite you to International Dance Day 2018 in St. Petersburg!
Special cultural program for Congress participants includes visiting the Mariinsky theatre, the Hermitage Museum, dance therapy centers and exemplary dance studios of Saint-Petersburg.
